Whether you are looking to enhance your creeking, river running or racing this program is for you!!! Come out and work your skills and endurance with attainments and river runs to boost your skills both upriver and down river. These classes will have both instructors and coaches in order to give you a great positive atmosphere and personable experience in order to work your skills!!!!!

What To Expect: Three 3 hour training sessions on Saturdays. 5:1 Student to Instructor Ratio or better!
Classes will be held February 1 to February 15, 2025
Prerequisites: Moving water experience.
Logistics: All participants require their paddling gear appropriate for cold weather paddling. River Running Kayak at minimum, recommend a half slice (Antix, Clutch, RPM, Ripper, or equivalent). Long boats are great as well.

Come out with us as we build friendships/ community, stamina, and work on perfecting our strokes both upstream and downstream.

Muddy Creek
Learn how to control your boat running down Muddy Creek in Delta, Pa. See a new River for the first time. We will be honing our river running skills as well as creeking maneuvers.

POLAR TRAINING SESSION 3
Tohickon Creek
There are so many great Class 3 runs in the region, but this is a gem! Tohickon Creek only has 4 planned releases and is pretty consistent class 3. Hone your reading/reaction skills as we paddle down the consistent rapids of the Tohickon Creek!

What To Bring
The following list of things to bring are mandatory for your comfort, safety, and enjoyment of your on-water (and in-water) experience with us.

REQUIRED Kayaking Equipment
- Kayak
- PFD (Rescue PFD recommended after Swiftwater Rescue training)
- Helmet (Less than 5 years old)
- Spray skirt
- Paddle
- Float bags (2-3 minimum https://tinyurl.com/ejjjc3bt)
- Knife /whistle (with your PFD)
- Throwbag (50 ft minimum)
- Dry top (all 3 gaskets)
- Drysuit
- Warm layers for underneath drygear
- Dry bag or 2 for extra warm gear lunch ect. Minumum 1 preferable 2 (check out the Watershed Ocoee bag- solid for lunch and personal supplies)
REQUIRED Personal Items
- Kayaker’s nose plugs
- Performance base layer or rash guard that dries fast (for wicking)
- Surf trunks (can be worn over neoprene pants or shorts and without)
- Simple and low profile wet shoes or booties without laces or straps
- One liter of water
- Waterproof snack (Clif Bar, etc.)
- Allergy medication (we require medications for all severe reactions such as bee stings, peanuts, asthma, etc.) and small dry bag to store it
- Sunglasses with strap
- Hide-A-Key and/or small dry bag. Please stash your own key and belongings on your car or person during events.
- Sunscreen
- Towel and change of clothes
Glasses or Contact Wearers
If you wear eyeglasses or contact lenses, make sure to also be prepared with the following items:
- Eyeglass strap (so you don’t lose your expensive prescription lenses).
- Note to those who wear contacts: Bring extra. You will need to close your eyes while underwater. (Swim goggles don’t work that well. A well-fitting dive mask is ok while learning to roll.)

FAQs
Here are some answers to some of our most frequently asked questions about our winter polar training whitewater kayaking classes:
- Please allow extra time for traffic so you can arrive and be prepared fifteen minutes prior to start time. Late arrivals will not be admitted to skill clinics under any circumstance.
- You have up until 72 hours before start time to reschedule. Please do so online.
- For your safety and enjoyment, we request that you keep your personal information up-to-date on your schedule page using the link at the top right that says “Personal info”
